Meet Caroline: Finding the right balance through experience
Caroline joined Vard Electro in 2005 as an electrician apprentice and has been part of the company ever since. Throughout the years, she has embraced new opportunities that have contributed to her growth, both personally and professionally. Today, she works as an Assistant Project Manager within Modification & Retrofit, a role that gives her just the right balance between office work and being out in the field.

A workplace that supports personal growth
After completing her trade certificate, Caroline continued working as an electrician and later took on the role of team lead. Her willingness to take on new challenges opened doors to several different positions within the company.
After some time in the field, she accepted a temporary position as HSE and QA Manager. Originally, the plan was to return to field work after one year, but new opportunities arose along the way.
“Suddenly, I had spent 12 years working in an office role,” Caroline says. “I enjoyed it, but I also missed being out in the field where things are happening.”
Her current position as Assistant Project Manager allows her to combine office responsibilities with work at the yard, a balance that feels just right.
“I really appreciate having a combined position where I work both in the office and out in the field. I had missed being where things actually happen, so being able to combine the two is absolutely perfect for me.”

Work environment worth staying for
During her nearly 20 years with the company, Caroline explains that she has collected many good memories, both from the people she has worked with and from the places she has been. She has worked at several shipyards in Norway as well as in Tulcea, Romania, gaining valuable experience along the way.
Caroline describes the working environment at Vard Electro as open, supportive, and collaborative.
“We are a great group that works well together and genuinely enjoys spending time together. That is probably one of the main reasons I have stayed here for so long.”
Her advice to both new and existing employees is simple:
“Don’t be afraid to speak up if you want new challenges. There are many opportunities at Vard Electro.”
