Vard Søviknes is located in Søvik, a small community in Ålesund municipality in Møre & Romsdal county on the west coast of Norway.
About
The shipyard undertakes final outfitting and commissioning on hulls primarily built at our facilities in Romania, and also specializes in ship repair and conversion. The yard was established in 1936 and has been part of VARD since 1995.
Vard Søviknes is well known for high quality and the flexibility required to solve the most complex shipbuilding projects. It has particular experience in building prototype vessels such as icebreakers, offshore well intervention vessels, and expedition cruise ships.
The yard has demonstrated competitiveness and adaptability through more than 80 years. The wide variety of ships it has delivered, including expedition cruise vessels, Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs), fishing and other specialized vessels is a testament to its history of successful diversification.
