Norwind Helm

Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) for Norwind Offshore.

Norwind Helm CSOV

The vessel is designed and built for Norwind Offshore, tailored for worldwide services, support, and maintenance operations at offshore wind farms.

Based on the VARD 4 19 design developed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway, it serves as a highly versatile platform for offshore wind farm support operations. The design prioritizes onboard logistics, security, comfort, and superior operability, equipping the vessel for construction, operation, and maintenance phases of offshore wind farms.

The final construction phase took place at the Vard Brattvaag shipyard in Norway, while the hull was built at Vard Braila in Romania. The vessel measures 85 meters in length and 19.5 meters in beam, with accommodation for up to 87 persons.

Equipped with a height-adjustable and 3D motion-compensated gangway with an elevator system from SEAONICS, as well as a height-adjustable boat landing system, the vessel is prepared for efficient personnel and cargo transfer. Additionally, it is designed to support future battery solutions, enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability in offshore operations.
