How is it like to be an intern in VARD?
Internships are a valuable opportunity for students to gain professional and vocational experience, to connect their area of study with real-life challenges, and to build a professional network. Meet Julia, one of the current interns in VARD who is studying a Bachelor`s degree programme in Marketing, Innovation and Management at NTNU in Ålesund, Norway.

First, what made you choose VARD for your internship?
- VARD is a company at the forefront of designing and building ships for clients worldwide. It doesn`t get much cooler than that, Julia says. Despite limited experience in the maritime sector, her ambition to challenge herself led her to VARD. – I have had VARD on my radar for a while and I really like the company's constant development, forward-thinking approach, and ambitious future plans.
What do you do as an intern in VARD?
I am mainly assigned to the HR department but will also work closely with the Corporate Communication & Branding department, says Julia who has already joined various ongoing projects, such as social media activities and recruitment campaigns.
So, how is it going so far?
- I have received a very warm welcome and I already feel like a part of the team. I really appreciate that my tasks are thoughtfully tailored to my preferences and skills. I feel that my tasks not only gives added value to VARD but is also aligned with my educational background.

Would you recommend VARD to others considering an internship?
Without hesitation, Julia says yes. - I would recommend VARD as an exciting workplace with a fast-paced environment and diverse tasks. The supportive and encouraging atmosphere, together with the valuable experience gained during the internship, makes VARD a great place for those wanting to learn more about the maritime industry, she says.
