VARD is pleased to announce that we have signed a very important contract for the design and construction of one state-of-the-art hybrid power Ocean Energy Construction Vessel (OECV) for the Norwegian shipping group Island Offshore. The parties have also agreed on an option for two more vessels.

VARD and Fincantieri build on their experience and expertise in the construction of naval vessels and present the next generation of military vessels – The VARD Resilience series.

Since officially launched in February 2023, the prototyping phase of the project is finalized. Charging tests have been conducted in port as well as testing of the offshore connection solution. Together with our partners, we have demonstrated that the Ocean Charger is an important step towards delivering zero emission ships to the wind industry.
